The Premise
Two branches of humanity, one meeting
At the heart of the series is a question. How would the people of Earth react to the discovery of an ancient and very advanced civilization of humans, one that wishes to begin colonizing a planet in Earth's own solar system? Conflicts arise between nations of Earth, and both peoples are changed by what they find.
The Mythological Framework
Asgard, Odin, and the centaurs
The ancient people travel aboard a vessel so vast it can be mistaken for a planetoid, its levels and chambers named for the gods of old. The series draws comparisons between Greek and Norse mythological tales and the possibility that such stories are memories of things that were once real. Centaurs are among the creatures that walk its forests.
Terraforming and Moonshadow
Remaking a world, and the warning of losing one
The story speculates on the ways Mars might be terraformed and rebuilt for colonization. The imagined planet of Moonshadow stands as an example of what could happen in the wake of a major solar event, a reminder of how much can be lost.
